Nostalgia

It feels like I’ve time traveled and landed in a parallel universe.
I’m numb and in awe.

It’s you, but it’s not you.
Like I’m in a dream.

You’re picking me up in an 80’s Cadillac, no seat belt. Holding the door like a gentleman.
The speedometer trembling to keep up. A dream catcher hanging from your windshield mirror. The lights on the road, purple. It’s as if I’m in a film. I’m again reminded of the magic. The moments of whimsey my heart lives for. The words coming out of your mouth; strangely familiar. Like you traveled from another timeline, except it’s not really you. Just the semblance.

Today you put a watch on my wrist. Like he put a bracelet. It’s like I was re-living the past in a warped reality where time was outside of time. As if dimensions had been collapsed together and I’ve been brought back here with you, except it’s not you. We drove past a store with his name written on it. What? His name. But not him. You. This moment, this car…

“Am I dreaming?”

Some moments in life are so unpredictable. So magical. It reminds me what I live for.

One moment we’re exchanging glances. The next we’re kissing in your bedroom in the dark.

On the surface I’m ok, but underneath there is a volcano.

I’m afraid of closeness. Like once you know me it won’t be the same.
And vice versa. Once I know you, maybe it won’t be the same.

The roads here make me nostalgic. If there is one word that captures the timbre of my soul, that one is probably it.

Anyway, this weird abstract message is all I have for today. It’s all been so weird lately.

I think I want a husband.

Written In The Stars?

Sometimes I entertain the idea that maybe things are “meant” to be. Though, I have no idea what’s really going on.

But when it comes to you I can’t help but wonder. It’s like the universe said, “You have to meet this person. I don’t care if I have to bring you 3,000 miles across the country to a very specific place because you were too blind to meet at the other 5 places you both happen to be standing in.”

Comical.

Timing. It’s a thing.

The story about people coming into our lives for a reason, season, or lifetime comes to mind when I think of you. Where do you fit?

Regardless of what happens I want to wish you well for as long as I live. I’m simply glad to have met you. I’m excited and curious to see how the story unfolds.

I’ve been known to go from 0-100 in my relationships, but for the first time I’m just enjoying the ride and learning the value in sharing space with someone without the need to make it into anything more than what it is in the moment.

Magnetism

How relieving it feels to be yourself, unedited.  With your scars, fears and weird exposed but instead of running they pull closer.

You are held tightly by a long embrace in a room where silence needs no filling for their warmth completes volumes of words that need not be uttered.

Suddenly you’re reminded of what it should have always been like. How it’s taken a journey to re-discover how to be loved. How to receive love. How the times you’ve felt like something wasn’t quite right was simply because you were accepting less than you deserved.

Then arises this question of attachment. Forming secure and healthy bonds.

And magnetism.

There is something to be said about the fact that the massive universe had to evolve and unfold in this very particular way bringing us together in such a peculiar way.

I’m curious about you.
